THE ASSISTIVE DEVICES PROGRAM IN ONTARIO (ADP)

The Ontario Assistive Device Program (ADP)is a program operated by the Ministry of Health that provides persons in Ontario with long-term physical disabilities access to funding for customized equipment like wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters. The devices covered are intended to help those with physical disabilities to improve their independence at home and in the community. Canada Care Medical is an authorized ADP vendor.

SENIORS’ HOME SAFETY TAX CREDIT FOR 2022

The Seniors’ Home Safety Tax Credit is a fully refundable tax credit for the 2022 tax year worth 25% of up to $10,000 in eligible expenses to make homes safer and more accessible for seniors.

If you’re over 65, you may be eligible for the Ontario Seniors’ Home Safety Tax Credit. This tax credit covers the following products that will make your home safer and more accessible, helping your loved ones to stay safe and comfortable at home or for you to stay in your home longer.

• • • Grab Bar & Bathroom Modifications – ensure your entire home is accessible for all your personal mobility needs. 
    • Stairlift, Ramps & Elevators – reach all levels of your home safely with a stairlift, ramp, or home elevator.

FUNDING PROGRAMS BY PROVINCE

Other Canadian provinces offer different funding options specific to each. Spending some time searching these options online can potentially yield precious help to cover the costs of some medical products.
